Musician Simon Shaheen, in addition to the oud, is violinists with the same professionalism and beauty. His first artistic appearance was at the age of four. Hi my name is Luis and today i will be talking about what my dads taste in music is and how he feels about it. growing up everyone likes a certain type of song, music or genre. when i asked dad about what are his types of music he tells me he likes romantic Hispanic music. as a child he said listened a lot to what his dad would play, i asked for a specific artist and he told me Vicente Fernandez which is a very famous artist known in mexico.  Ex:  this song name is "Ace Entre No" i asked him why this song and he answered because his dad always said a specific verse from this song. RIP grandpa <3. As a teenager my dad said he liked hype music due to him being a teenager he told me you feel like you the ruler of the world and just have crazy thoughts. my dad was into rock he said, well spanish rock and 2 of his favorite band were Los Hombres G and El Tri. both were very famous in the 80s-90s  as Los Hombres G was his hands down favorite as the artist were in there teens-...

Big Blog #1

for my first big blog my genre of music that i will be talking about is Hip Hop. Hip Hop was created back in the 1970s born in new York by Bronx. it was organically influenced by African american dancing and was becoming very popular all over the world. hip hops definition from the US is that its "a style of popular music of US black and Hispanic origin, featuring rap with an electronic backing". Nowadays hip-hop has another name called rap and now hip hop has a lot more aggressive words being said like violence, sex, drugs, and profanity .but this is the point of hip hop, it is supposed to make you feel cool and self confident with the energy and adrenaline rush. the style rap is used in is very unique i think its just a young adults type of music, im sure everyone likes hip hop because its just naturally in our blood. now what many rappers say is that hip-hop is black culture because they do it the best and that it is black music, this was said by Dr dre in an interview wher...

Indigenous American and Africa

 1. yes i know the song is called Africa but this is actually a great video that talks about the continent of Africa rather than the personal romance. he said that Africa is a beautiful place but also very dangerous which he based off in the lyrics saying he can just imagine how it would be. But What actually caught my eye where the instruments used in this video to make the song. during the beginning of the music us can hear jungle like music that come from a electronic keyboard. the instruments that caught my eye where  congas, marimbas, and an iconic harmony creating a unique texture within a conventional pop song structure. (https://hwsmusiccriticism.wordpress.com/2017/10/03/africa-by-toto/) 2. in this video the Togolese music includes a great variety of percussion-led dance music. Songs and music are used in rituals and religious ceremonies, to pass down stories from generation to generation, as well as to sing and dance to. during this video what i saw some of the ins...

so for my type of rituals or celebration that my Hispanic culture always does is quinceanera to girls that are turning 15. my personal experience that i have with a quinceanera is that ive been to alot of them and they are all set up the same way. she rented out a building to do it and hired a DJ and rented many seats and tables. people dancing and eating and oh yeah the food was really basic for a Hispanic quinceanera. then it was time for the dad and daughter dance followed by the special dance which included chambalantes. then they played some kind of fun games after with asking people to participate in and most likely everyone would do it. it was time for the cake and they just have multiple cakes ready to be served and some jello to go along with it. the rest of the night is just lots of dancing and people being drunk and having a good time, i left around 2 am in the morning that night, was a night to remember.  So, yes a quinceanera is a very beautiful way of celeb...

Si no te huberias ido, is my favorite song so far becasue he is explaining in the song of how he was really heartbroken after a break up that he had. the vibe and with what he was saying just blows me away and makes the song very good. Growing up this was the artist most played in my home and i...
