Hi my name is Luis and today i will be talking about what my dads taste in music is and how he feels about it. growing up everyone likes a certain type of song, music or genre. when i asked dad about what are his types of music he tells me he likes romantic Hispanic music. as a child he said listened a lot to what his dad would play, i asked for a specific artist and he told me Vicente Fernandez which is a very famous artist known in mexico.
Ex: this song name is "Ace Entre No"
i asked him why this song and he answered because his dad always said a specific verse from this song. RIP grandpa <3.
As a teenager my dad said he liked hype music due to him being a teenager he told me you feel like you the ruler of the world and just have crazy thoughts. my dad was into rock he said, well spanish rock and 2 of his favorite band were Los Hombres G and El Tri. both were very famous in the 80s-90s as Los Hombres G was his hands down favorite as the artist were in there teens- early 20s,in there music they would talk about teen problems and heartbreaks which is why they blew up. many teens listened to Los Hombres G because they could relate. his favorite song was "devuelveme a mi chica letra" he told me he liked the song because at the time because it reminds him of a story with a girl he had once. which i too like this artist and am in love with this song because im going through a similar situation with a chick, and he talks about it in this song
Now in this present day my dad listens to slow romantic music from the 90s to 2000s, i personally listen to them now and i love them, his favorite bands are los bukis and los temerarios which are very famous once again in the mexico culture as basically every one his age knows because they are extremely famous. its just slow romantic spanish music that really is played alot in the spanish culture. my dad likes this one song from macro Antonio solis which is from the band los bukis but is also a solo artist, it is called "viva el amor" which means long live love in spanish. This is what some one triple my age music like. very old fashion i love it, must have been his genes that just natural made me like it but that is all of what my dad has in music.
Although I do love Vicente Fernandez (may he rest in peace), I prefer his song La Ley del Monte or El Rey. It's nice to hear about our parents having rock phases despite of not being able to imagine it.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed listening to the songs your dad likes! "devuelveme a mi chica letra" is my favorite. I also thought it was interesting that you dad said for a while he only listened to what his parents listened to. My grandmother said the same thing when I interviewed her.
